How to Get the Most From a Formula Sheet

  1. 1

    Know what you are given

Each sheet separates the formulas printed in your paper from the ones you must remember, so you know exactly what to learn.

  2. 2

    Learn the rest by heart

Cover the formula, write it from memory, then check. A few minutes a day beats one long cramming session.

  3. 3

    Practise with real papers

Knowing a formula only helps if you can spot when a question needs it, so use it on genuine past paper questions.

Know the Formulas, Then Learn to Use Them

A formula sheet tells you what to use; a tutor shows you when and how. Book a free trial lesson and work through exam questions with an expert tutor.

Formula Sheet FAQs

  • Can I download these formula sheets as a PDF?

Yes. Every TutorWick maths and science formula sheet is free to view online and to download as a PDF to print, with no sign-up or email needed. Each sheet covers one exam board and course.

  • Can I take a formula sheet into my exam?

No. In the exam you can only use what the exam board provides, such as the list of formulas printed in the question paper or a formulae booklet. Use these sheets to revise, so you know which formulas are given and which you must remember.

  • Is there a formula sheet for Edexcel A Level Maths?

Pearson gives you a formulae booklet in Edexcel International A Level Maths exams, but some formulas are left out because the specification expects you to know them, such as the laws of logarithms and the constant acceleration formulas. Our Edexcel A Level Maths formula sheet lists exactly those.

  • Do I get a physics equation sheet in my exam?

It depends on the board. AQA gives GCSE Physics students an equations sheet with every paper for exams up to 2027, Cambridge A Level Physics papers print data and formulae, and the AP Physics exams include a reference sheet. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Physics lists equations you must learn because they are not given. Each of our physics sheets says which applies.

  • How should I revise with a formula sheet?

Cover the formula, write it from memory, then check. More importantly, practise exam questions that use each formula, because knowing a formula is only useful if you can recognise when a question needs it.
